SUMMARY

Fabricates and assembles metal products, and supports others doing the same, by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Operate welding equipment (MIG, TIG &/or Spot) to weld components together.
  • Sets up welding equipment
  • Blueprint reading.
  • Lifts, positions, and removes pieces for welding.
  • Marks reference points to assist in layout.
  • Loads, stacks, and transports stock and work in process by hand or truck.
  • Attaches grappling equipment to pieces to prepare piece for moving by crane or jib.
  • Grind, clean, polish parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand tools
  • Performs visual inspection of all components handled and some dimensional inspections using simple measurement devices
  • Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment. Performs other routine duties.
  • All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months experience in MIG and/or TIG welding steel, stainless and/or aluminum and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

SUMMARY

The Preventive Maintenance Manager are responsible for establishing, promoting, and maintaining a safe, accident-free, and healthy work environment and administering Blackstone’s equipment preventive maintenance program.

II.  PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE

Major Responsibilities:  Plans and performs preventive maintenance on equipment, machinery, tools, and facilities to achieve safety and maximum production availability using EWI087 as a guide.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned

  1. Develops preventive maintenance plans for building and equipment.  Reviews manufacturers’ service manuals, company usage, maintenance history, and discusses with supervisor and maintenance associates to create task lists and frequency assignments.
  2. Plans have Production Associate and Maintenance Associate elements per EWI087
  3. Creates custom Preventive Maintenance forms on a personal computer.
  4. Schedules preventive maintenance with minimal interference to production.
  5. Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities, including but not limited to lubrication of equipment, checking for faulty electrical parts and connections, replacement of worn mechanical/electrical parts on machines, replacement/cleaning of various types of filters on equipment, washing, cleaning, changing fluids, etc.
  6. Maintains Master Equipment Index
  7. Assigns asset numbers to new equipment and places labels on the equipment
  8. Performs OHSA and other required safety inspections of equipment.
  9. Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
  10. Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  11. Maintains records of planned and completed maintenance.
  12. Conducts audits of production associate PM compliance
  13. Operates forklift and man-lift equipment as needed to service equipment.
  14. Provides training to production personnel on how to perform preventive maintenance tasks and record keeping.
  15.  Provide additional support to maintenance department as required.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

The safety and preventive maintenance manager uses various software to execute his or her duties, including  Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Epicor, internet browsers, Microsoft Outlook, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS – To perform this job successfully, an individual must perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associates Degree in Engineering or Technology or another related technical field; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have experience is Safety Management in any related technical field.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, sub-assemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Assembles components by fastening parts and sub-assemblies.
  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.
  • Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and any trouble shooting required.
  • Inspect parts for inaccuracies or complications and discuss any issues with supervisor or manufacturing engineer.
  • Responsible for handling material at work station and maintaining a clean working station.

SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of a Grinder is to perform precision smoothing, polishing, or grinding of stainless-steel objects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Set up and operate standard manufacturing equipment.
  • Deburr, buff or polish materials to specifications.
  • Examine materials to ensure conformance to established standards.
  • Examine work pieces for defects.
  • Report all defects in material to the Team Leader immediately.
  • Ensure assigned work is understood prior to commencing.
  • Perform minor equipment maintenance.
  • Ensure that safety devices are operative.
  • Complete housekeeping duties in assigned area or project area on a daily basis and/or when required.
  • Complete assigned work within given time frame and according to specifications.
