Saw Operators are responsible for setting up and operating various metal power saws to slot, cut, and trim metal materials. The saw operator will process daily work orders to determine material dimensions and tolerances, metal to be cut, blade tension, cutting speed, feed rate, and positions of stops and guides. At times may also be assigned to operate additional machinery: tube benders, roll forms, plasma cutters, and grinders etc. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work from blueprints to produce projects according to specifications.
  • Select and install appropriate blades as well as replacing blades.
  • Verify dimensions of finished material using measuring devices

SUMMARY

Fabricates and assembles metal products, and supports others doing the same, by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Operate welding equipment (MIG, TIG &/or Spot) to weld components together.
  • Sets up welding equipment
  • Blueprint reading.
  • Lifts, positions, and removes pieces for welding.
  • Marks reference points to assist in layout.
  • Loads, stacks, and transports stock and work in process by hand or truck.
  • Attaches grappling equipment to pieces to prepare piece for moving by crane or jib.
  • Grind, clean, polish parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand tools
  • Performs visual inspection of all components handled and some dimensional inspections using simple measurement devices
  • Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment. Performs other routine duties.
  • All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review work orders and paint specs to ensure awareness of job requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Apply protective coatings to large industrial structures
  • Use proper protective equipment, and maintain required hygiene for respirator
  • Obtain and mix paint ingredients in accordance with the manufacturer’s specs to ensure paint is the proper consistency
  • Spray units by hand to ensure proper paint application, as needed
  • Continuously inspect painted parts or units to ensure proper coating application, and make spray gun adjustments as needed
  • Clean, mask, and sand units in preparation for painting
  • Unmask units, clean and load spare parts on units after drying process is completed
  • Maintain clean and organized equipment and paint booth (i.e. sprayer equipment, and application tools – brushes)
  • Assess issues with surface preparation
  • Assist in identifying welds and excessive splatter to be repaired
  • All other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY

Quality Engineer is responsible for the quality of all products and components. This includes quality of fabrication, receiving inspection, production, testing, corrective action processes, KPI metrics and internal documentation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Fabrication: Work closely with the Fabrication Shop on Quality opportunities based on non-conformances (NCR’s), internal audit findings and certification efforts
  • Receiving Inspection: Support for all receiving inspection of fabrications and vendor-supplied item. Review NCRs with inspectors for disposition
  • Production: Quality Tech will handle and monitor issues/problems arising from Production Department of all parts not meeting specifications. Advise Director of Quality Assurance and Engineering Department of changes required to create a better quality product
  • Travel to suppliers to review quality related issues and processes. Travel once per quarter approximately
  • Responsible for initiating and coordinating replacement or rework of defective and potentially defective parts
  • Quality Tech will provide direction when needed regarding sensitive issues with customers. Review material discrepancies for repetitive problems to be addressed from a possible manufacturing or engineering issue.
  • Establish, define, implement, maintain and report on quality assurance key performance measures
  • Carry out Vendor quality assurance and qualification audits and processes
  • Review nonconformities, initiate corrective action requests, monitor progress and perform final verification
  • Assist teams in the maintenance and writing of quality system documentation (procedures, work instructions, quality plans, etc)

QUALIFICATIONS /EXPERIENCE

  • Top communication skills essential
  • Minimum Associates degree in quality management or similar engineering  discipline
  • Previous experience in a production quality management system, with strong process knowledge
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of Quality with a background in manufacturing, fabrication, administration, purchasing, inspection, and testing
  • Knowledge in ASTM, AWS, ISO 9001, Lean and quality technique standards
